The Disney100 Mickey and Minnie meet and greet has begun at EPCOT. The couple are now meeting in the lobby of the Magic Eye Theater at the Imagination! Pavilion. The theater is home to the Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival and Mickey has been meeting there by himself since 2020. He’s now joined by Minnie and they are dressed up in their platinum outfits in honor of the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company, which is next month.
Disney100 Mickey & Minnie Meet and Greet
A new “Meet Mickey Mouse” sign was installed outside the Imagination! Pavilion on Thursday, along with an art deco Disney100 floor decal in the meet and greet space.
The pair originally debuted these platinum outfits at the Disneyland Resort in January.
Mickey wears a platinum tailcoat over a white shirt and waistcoat. He has a black bowtie and purple pants.
Minnie is in a shiny wrap dress with fireworks detailing and a purple sash.
Goofy, Donald, and Pluto have been appearing in their Disney100 outfits at Walt Disney World Resort hotels since at least April.
Guests can also get their photo taken virtually with Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, and Pluto in their platinum outfits with the Disney PhotoPass Character Clicks machine at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.
100 Years of Wonder
Disney’s 100 Years of Wonder (or Disney100 for short) is being celebrated across the world at Disney Parks and Resorts.
The 100 Years of Wonder celebration began at Disneyland Resort with “Wondrous Journeys” at Disneyland and “World of Color – ONE” at Disney California Adventure. There is a platinum Mickey statue (which initially had to be fixed because the Walt Disney quote on the base was incorrect) and a platinum Minnie statue in Disneyland.
Disneyland Resort is offering the “Celebrating Disney100 at the Disneyland Resort” guided tour, including a walk through both parks, the drawing experience at Animation Academy, a digital download of a photo taken in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, a Disney100 snack, reserved parade viewing, and a limited-edition pin.
In addition to the Mickey and Minnie meet and greet, EPCOT is debuting other Disney100 offerings. A new platinum Mickey Mouse sculpture will be installed in front of the giant 100 in World Celebration. The Mickey statue is the same as the one at Disneyland — including the correct quote.
A new mural also in World Celebration will feature 100 Disney characters in the neighborhoods of EPCOT. It will be located along the walkway to World Showcase. The rest of World Celebration will also be decked out with Disney100 platinum banners and other décor.
At night, Spaceship Earth will light up with a special Disney100 spectacle of light featuring a special rendition of “When You Wish Upon a Star.”
The purple metallic Mickey Balloon Premium Popcorn Bucket is available and new Global Marketplaces will open as part of the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival.
A new nighttime spectacular, “Luminous: The Symphony of Us,” is scheduled to premiere on December 5. The show was originally supposed to debut for the 100th anniversary in October but was reportedly delayed due to the soundtrack.
