The Play in the Park merchandise collection continues its takeover of Walt Disney World with a new MagicBand+ and one of Disney’s new Spirit Jersey alternatives, the Celebration Crew.
Play in the Park Walt Disney World MagicBand+ – $34.99
This Play in the Park MagicBand+ brings all the designs and colors of the collection together into the Disney Parks wearable. The band itself is a pale salmon pink color, with accents of red, teal, and yellow.
We found this MagicBand+ in Discovery Trading Company at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Mickey’s face is featured on the puck, surrounded by a matching teal border. The puck is what guests use to tap and interact at the parks, with things like the Fab 50 Character Collection statues, merchandise payments, and the Batuu Bounty Hunters game in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The puck is also removable if you don’t like wearing the wrist strap.
The strap below Mickey includes art of Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The former includes a graphic of The Hollywood Tower Hotel, and the latter has simplified art of the Tree of Life.
The strap above Mickey’s head includes Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, with art of Cinderella Castle and Spaceship Earth. All of the park icons are surrounded by mid-century atomic art stars.
This MagicBand+ is also available for purchase on shopDisney. MagicBand+ wearables feature full-spectrum color-changing lights that interact with select nighttime spectaculars, haptic feedback, gesture recognition, and Bluetooth pairing to smart devices. They also serve as your way to enter the parks, check in at Lightning Lane entrances (with valid admission and Lightning Lane entry linked to your My Disney Experience, of course), and link Disney PhotoPass photos to your account.
Play in the Park Celebration Crew – $69.99
This Celebration Crew sweatshirt is a dark teal, and features art from the Play in the Park collection on the front, back, and down the sleeves. We found this Celebration Crew in the Emporium at Magic Kingdom.
Donald, Pluto, Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse, Daisy, and Goofy are all shown in their casual park outfits enjoying everything that Magic Kingdom has to offer. Cinderella Castle towers behind them, as clouds and stars hang in the sky above.
On the right sleeve, Donald tries his best to lift the Sword from the Stone. You can try this in real life by visiting the Sword in the Stone in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom, between Cinderella’s Castle and the Prince Charming Regal Carrousel.
The left sleeve shows Goofy having the time of his life riding in an Astro Orbiter rocket.
The back of the jersey features the Walt Disney World wordmark printed in an orange-red puffy ink across the shoulders. Below, Mickey and Minnie are spinning away in a teacup from Mad Tea Party.
New rumors have indicated that Disney is looking to phase out their collaboration with Spirit Jersey, opting to make these new Celebration Crew sweatshirts instead. Reportedly, the decision comes in light of the high production costs associated with manufacturing Spirit Jerseys.
