Tarzan’s Treehouse at Hong Kong Disneyland Reopens After 4 Years

Tarzan’s Treehouse at Hong Kong Disneyland has reopened after a four-year closure. The attraction initially closed with the park in January 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While the park reopened and re-closed multiple times, Tarzan’s Treehouse remained closed through it all. The Adventureland attraction is now available to guests again.

Tarzan’s Treehouse at Hong Kong Disneyland is located on Tarzan Island. It’s accessible via a raft across the Rivers of Adventure. As guests walk through the treehouse, they’ll see moments from Tarzan’s story thanks to life-size figures of the film’s characters. Rooms of the treehouse include The Family Hut, The Study, The Laboratory, and The Kitchen.

Not only can guests experience the story of “Tarzan,” but they can also get a unique view of Hong Kong Disneyland. The 19-meter tree (given the scientific name Disneydendron semperflorens grandis or “large ever-blooming Disney tree”) offers views of Adventureland, Hyperspace Mountain in Tomorrowland, and Big Grizzly Mountain in Grizzly Gulch.

Guests will also be able to view the Castle of Magical Dreams from the treehouse for the first time. The park icon was originally Sleeping Beauty Castle but it was reimagined in 2020 to pay homage to multiple Disney Princesses.

To reach the top of the treehouse, guests must be able to climb 157 steps. Some of Tarzan Island is accessible to wheelchair users.

Tarzan’s Treehouse is scheduled to be open from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through January 24 and then from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. starting on January 25. No operation times are yet listed after February 3.

Tarzan’s Treehouse at Hong Kong Disneyland was an opening day attraction on September 12, 2005.

The original Tarzan’s Treehouse at Disneyland was a reimagining of the Swiss Family Treehouse that opened in 1999. Tarzan’s Treehouse closed suddenly and permanently in 2021, although Disney didn’t announce the closure was permanent until months later. The new Adventureland Treehouse Inspired by Walt Disney’s Swiss Family Robinson opened in November 2023.
