Rest in peace, Universal Legacy Store. This fan-favorite store, located at Universal CityWalk Orlando, has officially closed. Rumors of the store closing were finally confirmed by Universal Orlando, but no official announcements have been made about what could take its place. There’s a good chance that this location could become a preview center for Epic Universe, the new Universal Orlando theme park set to open in 2025.

Construction Walls Up Around Universal Legacy Store

Throughout December 2023, we noticed props and displays around the Universal Legacy Store being removed. On the final day of operation, very few props were left in the store. The following day, the doors were closed and windows were blocked with curtains.

Now, construction walls have been erected around the entrance to the Universal Legacy Store.

The white walls extend all the way up the stairs to the left of the former store.

The walls come to a stop just before the entrance to Citywalk’s Rising Star karaoke bar.

The walls also extend a bit beyond the former store’s entrance, encompassing two trees outside.

Epic Universe construction is moving along quickly and ride testing is underway. Universal Destinations and Experiences has made very few official announcements about Epic Universe, which means the new preview center should have a lot of new information when it opens. There’s no estimated time for the rumored preview center to open, but we expect it will open before summer.
