For several quarters, Disney+ numbers were falling, but the subscriber count finally saw growth last year. They minimized losses by $300 million, however.

According to Disney’s Q1 earnings report, the main Disney+ service ended the quarter with 111.3 million subscribers, down from 112.6 million.

Disney projects adding 5.5 to 6 million subscribers to Disney+ Core by the end of the current quarter, which ends in March.

Disney+ Hotstar actually added 700,000 subscribers. It was behind the drops in subscriber count previously. It hit a total of 38.3 million subscribers.

“Loki” season 2 premiered on Disney+ during Q1 of 2024. The season finale of “Ahsoka” also premiered at the start of the quarter.

Hulu hit 45.1 million subscribers.

It was recently announced that Disney, Warner Bros., and Fox would team up to bundle their sports content together into one app.

Though it did not air during Q1, Disney+’s “The Mandalorian” was the most-watched original streaming series in 2023. “Loki” came in at number two on the list, which also included Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building,” Marvel’s “Secret Invasion,” and “Ahsoka.”
