Kali River Rapids at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will open from refurbishment one day earlier than previously scheduled.
Kali River Rapids Reopening Date
Kali River Rapids closed for its annual refurbishment on January 8, 2024. Disney later announced it would reopen in mid-March. The Walt Disney World website eventually displayed hours on March 16, indicating it would reopen that day. Now hours have been added for Friday, March 15, too.
The whitewater river ride is located in the Asia section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It originally opened almost a year after the rest of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, on March 18, 1999. It was called Tiger Rapids Run during development and is inspired by the Chakranadi River in Karnataka, India. The height requirement is 38 inches / 97 centimeters and offers a rider switch. It also has lockers at the entrance for guests to store items they don’t want to get wet.
