Kali River Rapids at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be closing for its expected refurbishment in January 2024.
Kali River Rapids Closing for Refurbishment
The last day of operations for the raft ride at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be Sunday, January 7. On Monday, January 8, the ride will close, likely for its annual extended refurbishment. There is no set opening time currently announced. The official Walt Disney World website lists the attraction as closed through February 10, the furthest date available for guests to view on the attraction calendar — but it could open before or after that date.
In 2023, Kali River Rapids closed on January 9 for its annual refurbishment, reopening on February 26, nearly three weeks ahead of its scheduled March 17 re-opening date. For the 2022 season, the attraction closed on November 1, 2021 and reopened on January 4, 2022.
Located in the Asia section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Kali River Rapids is a high-thrills whitewater river ride where guests are all but guaranteed to get wet. The ride includes lush vegetation, a fast-moving trek on the rapids, and a plummet down a dramatic 20-foot slope.
