Crews continue to install paneling on CommuniCore Hall, a new flex space set to open this year in World Celebration at EPCOT. In our last construction update, we saw new ceiling panels and lighting installed on the building’s exterior.

Earlier this week, a crew member in a cherry picker vehicle was working on this wall of Spaceship Earth-inspired panels. Another crew member was working on the roof of the building.
This area will be the entrance to the new permanent Mickey & Friends meet and greet space. The EPCOT-themed mural has begun being installed here.
Black paneling has been installed along most of the frame of the entrance. The same black paneling is along the edge of the roof.
Behind the white Spaceship Earth paneling on the left is a wall of bare plywood. The wall on the right has been painted black.
On the adjacent wall of flat triangular panels, it doesn’t look like many more have been installed, but crew members were working on the wall near the corner.
There were also crew members on the ground level behind the construction walls.
Another shorter structure has slanted panels all along one wall. There are not yet panels on the ends, where black sheathing shows through.
Though Journey of Water Inspired by “Moana” is open, we have seen some construction continue around the walkthrough attraction. A new backstage gate leads behind construction walls.
The metal gate has triangles, matching the nearby CommuniCore architecture. A soft plastic “Cast Members Only” sign hangs on the gate. The sign is bright blue — the main color of World Celebration, where CommuniCore is located. Journey of Water is technically part of World Nature.
CommuniCore Hall is scheduled to open this year, but we don’t yet have a timeframe or date.
