BREAKING: Cast Member Pin Trading Lanyards Returning to Walt Disney World Next Month

After four years, Walt Disney World Cast Members are finally getting their pin trading lanyards back next month.

Cast Member Pin Trading

Pin trading was suspended in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, Disney introduced new pin trading boards and mystery boxes. In early 2023, we spotted a Cast Member with a pin trading lanyard but for the most part, Cast Members have not carried pin lanyards since March 2020. That all changes next month.

Disney Parks shared on TikTok that Cast-to-Guest pin trading will return on April 7, 2024. Cast Members in the video showed off their pin trading lanyards. Cast Members will wear traditional lanyards and crossbody lanyards displaying pins they have for trade.

Guests are usually allowed to trade two pins with a Cast Member or at a board.

Are you excited to trade pins with Cast Members again? Let us know in the comments.

  1. So excited. I went at Christmas and there was not many pin boards available and only a couple of cast members wearing lanyards. I came home disappointed but when I just saw your news I shouted YES and made the husband jump

  2. while pins seem rediculous, we met a man at the dvc booth while pin trading who had an autistic daughter. he brought his lanyard home one day and set it on the counter. he noticed his daughter was admiring them and asked her if she liked them. she said “i love them”. they were the first words she ever said. sometimes as adults we forget what the children truly love and find amazing. even those with handicaps to overcome. the man was working at wilderness lodge at the time if you were wondering. the story he told brought tears to this old mans eyes.
