Earlier this month, the first greenery was installed on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland. More faux moss has been added to the mountain since.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Construction
During our last look, only the top of the mountain and some flat sections on the sides were covered in a layer of green. The moss now coats more rocks across the front and sides of the façade.
There are mossy areas on top of sections of reddish-brown rock. Work on the Floridian version of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure indicates these areas will eventually be covered in foliage and flowers.
Round rocks that were previously gray are now completely green. These are in a row behind the mill.
There are still some pale gray rocks that remain to be covered in greenery. These are mostly on the front of the façade next to the mill. We also know the front of the mill will eventually be repainted and moss will be added to its rooftop.
Some more pale gray rockwork is to the left side. It looks like there are tarps and red markers on this rockwork.
Scaffolding completely covers the top of the mountain, which is being transformed into a salt dome. According to the ride’s backstory, Tiana founded the Tiana’s Foods co-op. The group cultivates crops along the waters of an old salt mine.
There is also scaffolding around the Tiana’s Foods water tower. Vines will eventually be wrapped around its legs.
We saw one crew member working on scaffolding near the tower.
From a head-on angle, another tarp is visible over the pale gray rock next to the flume of the ride’s drop.
Around the corner, the rocks around the base of the water tower are all awaiting paint or greenery. Some of them have been painted a light shade of brown, but they are mostly pale gray.
A bit of greenery is on some of the nearby rockwork. Tarps are taped on other rockwork.
We saw another crew member working on scaffolding behind the scrim that blocks the view of the ride’s entrance.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open at Disneyland “later in 2024,” after the Magic Kingdom version opens this summer.
