Disney’s Animal Kingdom is celebrating Earth Month (and its 26th anniversary) with various offerings, including PhotoPass Magic Shots inspired by “Pocahontas” and “A Bug’s Life.”
Earth Month Photo Ops
In front of the Tree of Life, guests can do a Magic Shot with a compass prop. They hold the compass in their hands and Disney PhotoPass superimposes the orange and purple leaves, as well as Pocahontas’ friend Flit.
The compass resembles the one from “Pocahontas.” It has blue and red detailing with a black arrow.
Carved on the back is “Sometimes the right path is not the easiest one.”
Next to the Discovery River, between Africa and Asia, is another prop Magic Shot. Guests hold a clay pot with cream-colored decorations (including a hidden Mickey) around its edge. A small version of the Tree of Life is then superimposed growing out of the pot.
Without the Magic of the Magic Shot, the pot just looks like it has a small sapling.
Also next to Discovery River is a shot with Meeko. The raccoon appears to be hanging from a vine as guests look up at him.
Another shot with Flit has the hummingbird floating above guests’ hands. This is also by Discovery River.
The last shot, available at most PhotoPass locations in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, features Heimlich the caterpillar from “A Bug’s Life.” Heimlich appears to be sitting on your finger.
