The exterior of Mission: SPACE at EPCOT has been under refurbishment for nearly a year but, with work underway on the giant Mars sculpture, work seems near completion.

The panels on the top of Mars are a distinctly different color, either because they’ve been restored or replaced.

The panels on the top left are dark gray while the panels on the top right are bright red. The rest of the planet’s shiny red-orange paneling remains untouched.

We first reported on the fading paint of Mars in May 2023. Crews soon blocked it off with rolling planters. But work on the red planet was put off as the pavement outside the attraction was refreshed. New Perseverance Rover tracks were installed, the Earth and Jupiter sculptures were refreshed, and the attraction sign was refurbished.
