Just a month away from the grand opening of Fantasy Springs at Tokyo DisneySea, Tokyo Disney Resort has shared in-depth photos of the land’s attractions — including Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey.
Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey
Exterior
Cast Members at Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey will wear Arendellian-inspired garb, with green pants and skirts and purple patterned vests.
Winter coats will also be an option on the colder days.
The attraction’s exterior looks like the entrance to the Kingdom of Arendelle.
A tile snowflake mural is on the ground outside.
Elsa’s ice palace can be seen on the North Mountain in the distance.
Queue
The queue takes guests through the halls of Arendelle Castle, starting under a wood shade.
Circular light fixtures feature snowflake silhouettes. The Golden Crocus symbol of Arendelle is on the columns.
The symbol is also on a sculpted frieze.
Guests then enter the castle proper.
The first hallway features red wallpaper and white wainscotting. There are portraits of Anna, Elsa, and their parents from their childhood.
A framed map of Arendelle is on one wall.
A suit of armor and shields are on display among velvet benches.
The queue is outlined with black metal stanchions.
Carved Anna and Elsa figures are on a display case full of toys, commemorative plates, and books.
Olaf can be spotted waving to guests from various windows throughout the queue.
The next room features floor-to-ceiling windows and skylights looking out at the Northern Lights.
Olaf also appears in these windows.
Embroidery materials are on a desk.
Signs of Anna and Elsa are sprinkled throughout the castle. Pictured above is Anna’s magenta cape and cap from “Frozen.”
A more green room features a large stone fireplace and a grandfather clock.
There are bookcases and windows with red velvet curtains.
Guests will also be able to dine in versions of these rooms at the Royal Banquet of Arendelle.
This room has more portraits of Anna and Elsa’s family.
This appears to be a music room with various instruments on the walls.
A model of Arendelle Castle is on display behind the railings.
Figures of different characters move in and out of the model.
Load
At load, guests will board boats and head out on their journey.
The space features wooden elements, resembling a dock. Plants hang from the ceiling.
The boats have blue benches, yellow trim, and purple and gold panels inspired by the Arendelle crest.
On Ride
The ride shares similarities with Frozen Ever After at EPCOT and Hong Kong Disneyland but retells the story of “Frozen” instead of an original story.
It starts with Grand Pabbie sharing stories of Anna and Elsa’s childhood with young trolls.
Guests then see a young Anna knocking on her sister’s door, asking, “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?”
Young Elsa is on the other side of the door, with projections of ice around her.
Moving ahead in the movie, Anna is shown grown up on the day of Elsa’s coronation.
She sings “For the First Time in Forever” in the portrait gallery of Arendelle Castle.
Elsa is shown at her coronation in front of a stained glass window.
Anna and Hans are then seen dancing across the Arendelle clock as they sing “Love is an Open Door.”
Elsa reveals her ice powers in front of Anna, Hans, and the Duke of Weselton in the next scene.
Icy stalagmites appear from the stone ground.
The water of a fountain even freezes over.
The ride then jumps ahead to Anna, Kristoff, and Sven meeting Olaf.
Of course, “Let it Go” is included, with Elsa building her ice palace in front of guests’ eyes.
A climactic moment of the ride depicts Elsa singing on the balcony of her palace.
Anna is shown suffering from a frozen heart.
As guests near the end of the ride, they see a clip from the film. Hans attempts to kill Elsa but Anna protects her and turns to ice.
Anna appears frozen forever, with icy projections on her animatronic.
But she slowly unfreezes.
The sisters live happily ever after.
The final scene shows Anna and Elsa ice-skating in the courtyard of Arendelle Castle. Other citizens and a banquet are around them.
Olaf skates in a frozen fountain.
Kristoff strums on his lute.
The ride ends as guests pass through the village of Arendelle and Olaf says goodbye.
Disney has released the first footage of Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey, too.
