The projector for the first-ever projection-mapped topiary has been removed from EPCOT.
Dante Topiary Projector Removed
Disney revealed soon after the start of the 2024 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival that the new Dante topiary would be illuminated with projection mapping at night.
The projector sat across from the Dante and Miguel topiaries near the Mexico Pavilion. It has been removed and there is no longer a projection-mapping effect on Dante.
The EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival runs through May 27, so the projector may have been removed permanently as Disney prepares for the festival’s end.
The “Coco” topiaries are just illuminated with regular lights when the sun goes down. The Dante topiary was painted with solar-charged paint to help give him a glowing effect even without the projection mapping.
