Former Disney CFO Christine McCarthy has joined the board of directors for Flutter Entertainment, a sports betting company.
Christine McCarthy Joins Flutter Entertainment
McCarthy was CFO for The Walt Disney Company from 2015 until June 2023. She stepped down for family medical leave, serving as a strategic advisor for the past year.
Flutter Entertainment owns brands like Paddy Power, FanDuel, PokerStars, Sky Betting & Gaming, Sisal, and Sportsbet. McCarthy will be a member of the audit committee of Flutter’s board starting on July 30.
Robert “Dob” Bennett, former Warner Bros. Discovery director, also joined Flutter’s board.
Christine and Dob’s extensive experience in the entertainment industry will be an invaluable asset to Flutter as we continue to extend our leading position as a global online sports betting and iGaming provider. Disney was discussing going into the sports betting business prior to McCarthy’s departure. ESPN Bet finally launched last year.
