Right in time for the spookiest time of the year (since Halloween begins at Walt Disney World on August 9), a new Ichabod Crane projection has been added to a window in Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom.

Ichabod Crane Projection

A brick building with red shutters and a red roof is lit up at night. Wreaths and holiday decorations adorn the entrance, reminiscent of Liberty Square's charm. A lamp post casts a warm glow on the exterior, as if Ichabod Crane might appear around the corner any moment in this magical scene.

The projection is in the top right window of Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe, which already had an Ichabod Crane reference (as pictured below).

A hanging sign off the side of the building reads, “Music & Voice Lessons by appointment only. Ichabod Crane, Instructor.” It appears he’s being implicated to either live above the shop or use it for the lessons.

Ichabod Crane is best known from “The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad,” an animated film from 1949. It’s based on “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” by Washington Irving. The story follows Ichabod as he moves to Sleepy Hollow to become the local schoolteacher and encounters the Headless Horseman (who typically kicks off Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party).

A two-story brick building with large windows, white shutters, and a lit second-floor window stands reminiscent of Liberty Square. The lower floor, adorned with arched windows and holiday decorations, creates an enchanting evening scene.

The projection lasts approximately 90 seconds and runs about every five minutes after sunset.

Ichabod can be seen in the window lighting the candle, reading and drinking tea, and then blowing out the candle.

Silhouettes of people are seen through the lit window of a brick building at night in Liberty Square, with closed shutters on adjacent windows, evoking an atmosphere reminiscent of Ichabod Crane's tales.
