During the Disney Experiences Showcase of D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, Disney confirmed the name and details of their new Avengers Campus multiverse attraction featuring King Thanos, coming soon to Disney California Adventure.

Avengers Campus E-Ticket Attraction

A group of people, including families with children, walk towards the entrance of "Avengers: Infinity Defense" attraction in a sunny, futuristic Avengers Campus setting with vibrant lighting and greenery.

The name of the ride is Avengers: Infinity Defense. Guests will enter next to Avengers Headquarters. Judging by the above concept art, that’s also where the land’s fourth ride, Stark Flight Lab, will also be located.

Ant-Man, in a huge size, breaks through a glass ceiling at Avengers Campus as Iron Man and civilians are on the ground below. The scene is intense with lots of action and destruction. "Avengers: Infinity Defense" logo is at the bottom.

Disney said Avengers: Infinity Defense will impact the story of the entire land. While guests have been superheroes in training, this ride will take them into the field. In the story, technology that allows the Avengers to jump between worlds has gone missing.

Amid an explosion, a green-skinned character clashes with enemies while futuristic ships and buildings loom in the background. The image, branded with "Avengers: Infinity Defense," evokes the excitement of visiting Avengers Campus.

King Thanos, a version of Thanos that won, is using the tech to wreak havoc across the multiverse. Avengers Campus recruits will join the Avengers on a mission to locations like Asgard, Wakanda, and New York City.

A heavily armored figure holding a glowing blue sword stands amid ruins with a large staircase and shattered structures in the background. The setting is dark and misty, invoking a sense of destruction, reminiscent of battles that could have taken place in an Avengers Campus.

Concept art shows Iron Man, Ant-Man (in his giant form), The Hulk, Shuri’s Black Panther, the Dora Milaje, and King Thanos himself. The latter appears to be walking through the ruins of Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Santorum — which either ironically or purposefully closed recently.

Construction will start next year. The ride’s associated store opened in Avengers Headquarters last year. With Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab, the size of Avengers Campus will double.

King Thanos

Disney first announced the new Avengers Campus E-ticket attraction at D23 Expo 2022 but details have been scarce since. It replaces the Quinjet attraction originally planned.

Avengers Multiverse Attraction Concept Art scaled 2

The first concept art released features Marvel superheroes in various art styles attacking King Thanos. Disney said it would feature a “brand-new story that will bring guests into battle alongside their favorite Super Heroes.”

The final ride vehicle, which looks similar to those of Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure in Fantasy Springs, was revealed this weekend on the D23 floor ahead of the Disney Experiences Showcase. A King Thanos standee was also on display.
