Disney’s Broadway musical version of “Frozen” will be available for streaming on Disney+ sometime next year.
Disney announced the news at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. The filmed musical stars Samantha Barks as Elsa, indicating this is a filmed version of the West End production currently starring Barks.
Frozen on Broadway features new music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Ropert Lopez, and a book by original “Frozen” screenwriter and co-director Jennifer Lee.
After a 2017 tryout, it premiered on Broadway in March 2018. A North American tour began in November 2019. It opened on the West End in September 2021.
