The third stage show aboard the Disney Destiny cruise ship when it launches next year will be “Disney Hercules.”
Developed exclusively for the Disney Destiny, “Disney Hercules” will stay true to the story of the animated film while bringing a modern adaptation to the stage.
According to the Disney Parks Blog, the show will “draw on the creative team’s extensive and diverse experience that ranges from theatre to pop music.” It will also include immersive projection effects.
In the show, the Muses will be the storytellers, just as they were in the film. The show will include all of the beloved songs from the movie, as well as a new ballad titled “Shooting Star.”
The updated musical arrangements for “Disney Hercules” will emphasize the pop and gospel influences of the original soundtrack.
“Hercules” joins the previously announced “Frozen, A Musical Spectacular” and “Disney Seas the Adventure.”
Disney Cruise Line had a “Hercules” show many years ago but the announcement indicates this is a brand-new show.
Disney Destiny sets sail in November 2025.
