After more than a year, the Space Mountain tunnel at Disneyland has finally been repaired. The lighting effect that created the illusion of moving quickly had been broken, with most lights burnt out.
Space Mountain Tunnel Repaired
Previously, the tunnel was supposed to pulse with blue lights. When Space Mountain reopened after a refurbishment in October 2023, instead of restoring the effect, the tunnel lights were off (and new projections were added after the tunnel).
The attraction closed on August 5, 2024, for this refurbishment. Now that it has reopened, the tunnel pulses both blue and white lights as riders begin their adventure into space.

And compare to the completely broken version from October 2023 in our video below.
Space Mountain opened in 1977 at Disneyland, following the debut of the Magic Kingdom version in 1975. The attraction is different from its Floridian counterpart and from those at international parks. It also operates seasonally as the Star Wars-themed Hyperspace Mountain.
