A pop-up notification on a Walt Disney World app screen states that some payment options are unavailable, and only PayPal is currently accepted. The message includes an apology for the inconvenience.

Disney Experiencing Company-Wide Payment Issues at Disney Parks and Disney Store

DisneyStore.com and the My Disney Experience and Disneyland apps are experiencing payment issues across the board. Guests can’t book Lightning Lanes, use Mobile Checkout, or use Mobile Food Orders.

DisneyStore.com

A Disney Store webpage with a search bar displaying the query "munchlings" and a red error message indicating payment issues.

This morning when visiting the Disney Store website, we received an error message at the top of the page, citing an issue with checkout. It appears this issue is only temporary, and the Disney Store is working to resolve it. This was our first indication of the payment issues Disney is experiencing company-wide this morning.

My Disney Experience App

When our reporter arrived at Walt Disney World this morning, they received a similar pop-up message on the My Disney Experience app. The message reads:

Pardon the Inconvenience

Some of our payment options are unavailable, and only PayPal is available at this time in select flows. We’re actively working to resolve this issue. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The My Disney Experience App has streamlined many things in the park, including Lightning Lanes, mobile orders, and mobile checkout for merchandise. Guests will be limited in self-service options until the payment issues are resolved. At this time, guests are encouraged to seek help from Cast Members in the parks.

Our reporter continued into the My Disney Experience app to see if only a few options were affected or if it was the entire payment system, and continually got this pop-up with the same verbiage seen when the app was first opened.

A loading screen with a spinning icon and the text "Loading" and "Retrieving Out Details" in the background.

When trying to use mobile checkout, we were met with a spinning wheel and eventually, the page would error out. Cast Members offered to check us out in person at the register for the time being, creating longer lines in the shops that offer mobile checkout.

We did not receive any charges when attempting to make purchases, due to the payment system being down.

A screenshot of an order summary showing an original price of $6.49, a 20% discount, resulting in a subtotal of $5.19 plus $0.34 tax, for a total of $5.53. A "Something Went Wrong" error message is displayed at the bottom.

When our reporter tried to make a mobile order for food, the same spinning wheel and an error message would appear. It isn’t quite lunchtime at the time of this publication, but more long lines in the park can be assumed if the payment issue is not resolved by then.

UPDATE – 12:54 p.m. ET: At this time, mobile order for food is once again available for guests.

Disneyland App

The same issues are happening to the Disneyland app as well. This payment issue has affected all of the domestic Disney Parks payment systems this morning, and it seems to be a company-wide issue with the Disney Store also experiencing technical difficulties.

UPDATE – 12:56 p.m. ET: Mobile order is available once again on the Disneyland app.
