Hello, it’s me, Nana, back at Disney’s Hollywood Studios again. Yes, I was there yesterday, and about 20 hours later, I am back. On September 9, James Earl Jones, who was the voice of Darth Vader and Mufasa, passed away. Today, I am here to do a little Darth Vader tribute tour and my regular loop.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios Photo Report
I started with Star Wars Launch Bay to see Darth Vader. I love Launch Bay, but that place is not getting any love at all. However, it does have nice air conditioning and some benches to sit on, so it’s a great place to cool off. That being said, I miss the old Magic of Disney Animation show and tour. I still remember the day I met Baymax and Hiro from “Big Hero 6” there.
Meeting Darth Vader had a 30-minute wait, but I think I waited only 15 minutes.
We said hi and got some scans done with him. (It’s not called “taking pictures” with Darth Vader, it’s a “scan.”)
I then left Launch Bay and walked over to Star Tours. Here is my baby AT-AT’s portrait.
The day the new Ahsoka Tano scene was added, I had to ride Star Tours four times in three hours to see all the new scenes. The Cast Members kept seeing me riding, so they must’ve thought I really wanted to be the rebel spy… so they made me the rebel spy.
Yes, you can laugh at this picture.
I was hoping we would get Darth Vader on this ride, but we got my Star Wars Boo, Kylo Ren. Yes, I love Adam Driver. (I did not like how Kylo ended up with Rey, though…)
Disney announced that Limited Edition StarSpeeder 3000 Vehicle Play Set from D23 will be released at Tatooine Traders this week. I popped in to check in case they accidentally released it early, but they did not.
Walking into Galaxy’s Edge, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance was a 45-minute wait. I was here yesterday at pretty much the same time and the wait was shorter. The park is still slow if you compare crowds with those from this summer. However, when there’s a party at Magic Kingdom, that park will be super duper slow, and other parks will get busier. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was only a 30-minute wait and TRON Lightcycle / Run was 30 minutes this morning at 10 a.m.
My Ronto bot was working hard as usual, non-stop like I do. He deserves a day off… I feel bad.
If you read my Disney Princess Diary from yesterday… You know Dok-Ondar was back from a long vacation. Aaaaaaaand, guess what! He is GONE again!! He is a busy guy, I guess. We will see when he’ll be back.
I stopped by Droid Depot to see if we got the new parts for droids like Batuu West did, but not yet. Our search continues.
Now stepping into Toy Story Land! Guests are still having lunch by the border of Batuu and Toy Story Land. I have no clue how long it will take to put down the new pavement and finish the new seating area.
I feel so weird eating Woody’s Lunch Box food by Batuu’s wall, staring at Toy Story Land. I totally understand that Toy Story Land doesn’t have much space, so this was the only option. This land doesn’t have many places to cool off or sit down in general, and it always feels like it’s 10 degrees hotter there.
After I was done being Andy’s toy in the backyard, I made my way to Sunset Boulevard. The weather is much nicer than yesterday. Florida blue sky is here!
When I checked Tower Hotel Gifts, I noticed that the Tower of Terror pajama sets are selling out quickly. They only had three left when I looked.
Lot’s of people still don’t know that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is fully back and operating! Our “unofficial intern” went to ride it as a single rider… She loved it. The wait was 50 minutes but as a single rider, she only waited about 20 minutes.
I did not see any new merchandise in stores on Sunset Boulevard. But in Celebrity 5&10, they have the new collection for Disney Eats! I am highly considering getting the ears.
Those “foodie ears” come in handy, especially when you are meeting with characters. If you love to meet with characters but don’t know what to say, bring food-themed ears and you will have a great interaction with them.
Oh well, this will conclude Nana’s Disney Princess Diary (aka photo report) from Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Thank you for reading! You won’t read (see) me for the next few days (yay!) but will be right back to bring a chuckle to your day this weekend. I hope you guys will have a fantastic week!
