Halloween Horror Nights ‘Wolf Man’ Photo Op Replaced

The “Wolf Man” photo op was located in the park’s San Francisco area, near the Enter the Blumhouse scare zone. Blumhouse is producing the upcoming film. The set-up featured a backdrop with a farmhouse at night, several plants, shovels, a wheelbarrow, and a “No Trespassing” sign. The Wolf Man appeared as a meet and greet character for one night only at this stage but did not return. It’s unclear if the negative guest reaction was the cause for his removal.

A large sign reads "Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights" with a spooky-themed background, set against an outdoor park scene with lampposts and buildings on a clear, sunny day.

The photo op has been replaced by a spacey purple and teal Halloween Horror Nights backdrop. It features artwork of a monstrous version of the Universal Studios Florida entrance, which is also featured on other HHN imagery and merchandise. After the arch design became popular in online communities, fans nicknamed it “Otis,” which was adopted by Universal as an “official” nickname. A drink was even named The Eye of Otis in its honor.

“Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights” is in large golden lettering with “Where Horror Lives” in red at the bottom. It’s supported by trusses wrapped in black scrim.

“Wolf Man” will be in theaters on January 17, 2025. It stars Christopher Abbott (“Poor Things”) and Julia Garner (“Ozark”). Produced by Blumhouse and Universal Pictures, the film was directed by Leigh Whannell, who worked with the studios on the “Insidious” franchise previously.

A different remake of the Wolf Man was originally slated for the Universal Monsters reimagining as the “Dark Universe.” While the Dark Universe film franchise didn’t take off, the name will be used for one of the lands at Universal Epic Universe, which opens in summer 2025.

A group of characters, including a tall man, a woman with a weapon, and various creatures, are in a spooky, mist-filled amusement park under a moonlit sky with castles and roller coasters in the background.

The Wolf Man will be featured in the land, but based on the concept art, his design will reflect the original 1941 version and not the Blumhouse film. An attraction, the Curse of the Werewolf roller coaster, will feature Maleva from the 1941 “Wolf Man” movie as well.
