After a five-month closure, the Disney Vacation Club Member Lounge in EPCOT has reopened as the Disney Vacation Club ImaginAtrium – A Member Lounge.
Disney Vacation Club ImaginAtrium – A Member Lounge
The lounge, located on the second floor of the Imagination! Pavilion, closed for refurbishment on June 2. Its new name was announced in August. New signage was installed and the Walter Peregoy elevator shaft was repainted in September. The lounge soft opened on October 26.
The refurbishment is in part due to the new sponsorship by PPG Paints. The lounge’s new blue color scheme matches the PPG Paints logo.
The decorative panels on the elevator shaft are now different shades of blue, green, and teal. The Disney Vacation Club banners hanging around the elevator are also blue.
The flooring remains the same, featuring a colorful design across tile and carpet.
The circular front desk features fresh transparent paneling with silver detailing. To enter the lounge from the first floor, guests must present a valid Membership Card and photo ID with the same name. DVC Members can bring up to four guests with them into the lounge.
There are baskets of candy at the front desk. A sign featuring Figment asks guests to wait to be seated.
The walls around the decorative element atop the elevator shaft remain the same with a gray dimensional design.
There is new seating throughout, including orange, gray, and blue plush armchairs.
The ImaginAtrium logo resembling Spaceship Earth is on one wall as a photo spot.
The metal tower reaches up to the ceiling, which is covered in glass panels looking out to the sky.
There are different types of tables and chairs in different areas.
These unique plastic chairs are white with green and blue seats. They are paired with a black sofa around square tables.
Red armless chairs run along this wall. Gray box tables are between them and white hexagon-shaped tables are in front of them.
There are tall counters with bar chairs featuring red seats.
The counters and many of the tables have built-in USB and standard outlets. The counters also have elements to hang bags. The lounge does have Wi-Fi.
One wall features a blue and purple mural of EPCOT buildings, including the Imagination! Pavilion, Spaceship Earth, and the Wonders of Xandar Pavilion. A lime green border is around the mural.
A TV in a blue frame advertises different Disney Vacation Club resort hotels.
There is a model of the Disneyland Hotel with the DVC Villas tower in full color.
As promised, there is an exhibit of archival images. These are on a slanted wall above kids’ tables. Each image is a different sketch of Figment, mostly inspired by the attraction.
The lounge is where the original ImageWorks was located. Read our complete history of Journey Into Imagination, which turned 40 last year.
The kids’ chairs are black, orange, and blue. There are tables with screens for play and a TV showing Mickey Mouse shorts.
The refreshment sport has three Coca-Cola Freestyle machines and free snacks.
The lounge will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
A new DVC lounge is under construction in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom, replacing the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade.
