Barbacoa Tamal de Res – $9.25

with Oaxaca cheese, tomatillo salsa and crema

The Barbacoa Tamal is one of our favorite items that debuted last year and we’re so glad to see it back. The meat is tender and well-seasoned, the masa is soft, and there’s plenty of tomatillo salsa.

When we first took a fork to it, the top layer of icing just fell off. It’s okay. You can tell it’s been sitting in a fridge. The predominant flavor is low-quality milk chocolate.

Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co. Mexico Origin Coffee, low fat and condensed milks, house-made spiced syrup with star anise, clove, and cinnamon, topped with a chocolate dulce de leche sweet cream, and garnished with a mini-pan dulce

It’s really good. The spices are strong, especially the cinnamon. The pan dolce was terrible, though. It was stale and sticky. Throw it out and enjoy the coffee.
