Walt Disney Imagineering shared a behind-the-scenes look at Cast Members putting the final touches on the Disney Treasure, which arrived at its home of Port Canaveral on Tuesday morning.
Disney Treasure Details
Walt Disney Imagineering shared clips on their Instagram Story that highlight details throughout the new Disney Cruise Line ship. In the first clip, a new piece of artwork is visible depicting the Treasure joining the other five Disney Cruise Line ships at sea.
Off the ship’s Grand Hall will be 1923, the second version of a restaurant that debuted on the Disney Wish. Inspired by Walt and Roy Disney, the restaurant features cases of Walt Disney Animation Studios concept art, maquettes, and props. Imagineering showed a case full of “Pocahontas” items on the Treasure. These include a maquette and concept art of Governor Ratcliffe, and a figure of Grandmother Willos.
Brief close-ups also seem to show a case dedicated to “Brother Bear.” There is concept art and a row of arrowheads.
One Imagineer was installing blue and white Arabian-style decals in the Great Hall, which is inspired by “Aladdin.” We also got a look at the “Making Of” display case that features artwork and elements from throughout the ship. Like the Wish, this case will be in the Grand Hall.
An Imagineer in Worlds of Marvel teased some of the restaurant’s lighting effects for a new Groot show. The brief clip shows a cascade of colors across the wall. Guests on the Treasure will dine at Worlds of Marvel twice, experiencing both “Avengers: Quantum Encounter” from the Disney Wish and “Marvel Celebration of Heroes: Groot Remix.” In the new show, Groot takes over a celebration for the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Imagineers were also shown programming the audio of the AquaMouse. The water ride will have a new “Curse of the Golden Egg” story. Another Imagineer finished painting a Lumiere statue on a light fixture, displayed at Enchanté.
