Disneyland Paris Big Thunder Mountain Refurbishment
The last day of operation for the ride will be Sunday, January 5, 2025. On Monday, January 6, the ride will close for its refurbishment. The official Disneyland Paris website lists the attraction as closed through at least March 24 – the furthest date available for guests to view on the attraction calendar.
The Imagineering team at Disneyland Paris has been planning the project for over a year. The plan for the refurbishment is to restore and improve the roller coaster’s creative vision and history while also ensuring the attraction continues to meet Disney’s high standards for maintenance.
The renovations will have several visual additions and improvements. The Mill Camp tower, queue, and other decor on the mountain will also be receiving updates.
The animal figures seen throughout the attraction are also said to be fully restored, including. the iconic Billy the goat and mules. The foliage on the attraction will also receive care and attention with the replanting of cacti to keep with the wild west atmosphere.
While Disney has not released an official reopening date, “The wildest ride in the West” is currently expected to reopen before the busy summer season begins at Disneyland Paris.
