In 2025, construction will begin on the expansion of Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure. To make way for new experiences, the last date for guests to ride Red Car Trolley will be Feb. 8, 2025.

While the language used here does not directly indicate, this will be a permanent closure as the construction will necessitate the removal of the trolley barn backstage, where the vehicles are stored and maintained.

The Red Car Trolley was added to Disney California Adventure in 2012 as part of a reimagining of the park that cost over $1 billion. The attraction was added along with Buena Vista Street to add charm to the park that sorely needed it.

An expansive view of Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure, featuring various attractions, buildings, and a spaceship-like vehicle with a futuristic design captures the essence of Marvel's universe seamlessly.

Announced at D23 in August, an attraction called Stark Flight Lab (starring Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark once more) will join the Avengers: Infinity Defense attraction in the expansion of Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure. Work will begin on these two new attractions in 2025.

Strange enough, a number of entertainment offerings in the land have been ended or reduced in scope despite the land’s impending growth, with “Dr. Strange: Mysteries of the Mystic Arts” having been closed earlier this year. Performances of “Warriors of Wakanda: The Disciplines of the Dora Milaje” were reduced, and now, “The Amazing Spider-Man!” show featuring the marvelous Stuntronic figure has been shorted and removed stunt performers of the American Guild of Variety Artists (AGVA) union.

Avengers Campus opened to a mixed reaction from guests in 2021, celebrated for the amount of characters and entertainment guests could see, but criticized for the lack of attractions, seating space, and ornate touches that are the hallmark of quality Disney theme park projects.
