NEW Walkway Between DVC Island Tower and Disney’s Grand Floridian Now Open

The walkway connecting the DVC Island Tower and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is now open to guests.

New DVC Island Tower Walkway Now Open

This new walkway will allow guests to travel between the DVC Island Tower and the Grand Floridian. Guests could even continue to Magic Kingdom by taking the walkway connecting the park to the Grand Floridian.

As shown in the photo above, the pathway connecting the two resorts travels right past Disney’s Wedding Pavilion. The pathway curves along the Seven Seas Lagoon with palm trees and other foliage lining its opposite side. Also visible are light posts ensuring a well-lit area for nighttime.

As you embark on the walkway towards the Grand Floridian, you’ll notice sand and hammocks near the water. The walkway is also lined with palm trees.

As you near the Wedding Pavilion, there is a directional sign. The top displays an arrow pointing right directing guests to the Great Ceremonial House of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Continuing down the path toward the Grand Floridian is a wooden barrier to the side and the Monorail track up ahead.

Continuing left around the corner leads to the front of the DVC Island Tower where yet another directional sign can be seen.

Continuing right will lead to the Grand Floridian, with a directional sign of the resort’s offerings.

Just last month, work was still being done on the tower and the walkway was obviously not yet complete. The area was being prepped for cement to be poured and barriers to be installed on the water.

The 10-story DVC Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort overlooks the Seven Seas Lagoon. It’s also within walking distance of the Walt Disney World Monorail. Accommodations include duo studios, deluxe studios, One-Bedroom and Two-Bedroom Villas, and Two-Bedroom Penthouse Villas.
