We stayed in a one-bedroom villa at the newest Disney Vacation Club destination — Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. A one-bedroom villa sleeps five. Guests can choose a Preferred View with views of the pool or golf courses, or a Theme Park View, looking out at Seven Seas Lagoon and Magic Kingdom.
Island Tower 1-Bedroom Villa
Entryway
On the wall next to the door is a framed piece of art. It features a large leaf shape made of woven bamboo, set against a dark background.
A closet near the door hides the washer and dryer.
Next to the washer/dryer closet is a proper closet. It has hangers, a built-in safe, an ironing board and steam iron, and an extra pillow and blanket.
Bathroom
Off the entryway is the first bathroom. It has a marble top vanity with one sink. A towel rack is on the front of the vanity. On the wall above is a hexagonal mirror. To the sides are wicker-style light sconces.
The toilet is between the vanity and shower. Half of the room has light-colored walls. The shower have has black tile walls.
The back wall of the shower features a dark leafy pattern. It has a detachable shower head and a waterfall shower head.
There’s a built-in cubby next to the mounted shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.
Kitchen & Dining Area
Immediately in front of the front door is the kitchen and dining area. The cabinets are a light brown color. There’s a dark backsplash above the white marble countertop.
Appliances include a full-size fridge, oven, glass top stove, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, and dishwasher. There’s a sink with a black faucet.
The fridge has a drawer freezer. There’s a built-in water dispenser inside.
A toaster is also available. It’s housed in a cabinet next to the microwave. Plates, bowls, wine glasses, mugs, and cups are also in the cabinets. There is an ice box with plastic bags.
There are some cooking supplies and a pitcher.
Coffee and tea are in a black tray next to the Keurig.
Across from the kitchen cabinets is the dining table. It’s an oval-shaped table with three chairs and a small bench. The chairs have yellow upholstery. The bench has a white seat and a padded back with a blue and green pattern.
The table has rounded sides and flat ends. It has a light wood finish, while the chair frames are more of a gray wood.
A trio of wicker-style light fixtures hang above the table. They have orb-shaped lights inside.
Behind the bench, the wall has a textured inlay and features a manta ray sculpture. Teased by Disney a few months ago, the sculpture is inspired by Gramma Tala from “Moana” and represents family and togetherness. It features hidden details, including a hidden Mickey, Maui’s fishhook, and a sea turtle.
Behind the bench are various outlets.
Living Space
At the back of the villa is the living space. There’s a sandy gray L-shaped couch, two blue cushioned stools, and a circular table. Hanging above the living room is a light fixture with a black wicker shade.
The sand-colored sides of the stools and table feature geometric Polynesian-inspired patterns. The table top is black and white marble.
The flooring throughout the living and dining area features a chevron woodgrain. The living room’s rug is blue and gray.
Behind the couch is a Murphy bed. The unit features an alcove with a small wicker light and the Hey Disney voice assistant.
The artwork between the Murphy bed handles is a sunrise over a bay. There are green mountains, flying birds, a beach, and sea creatures swimming through the ocean.
The Murphy bed has plain white linens and a sand-colored padded headboard. The artwork behind the bed, revealed when it’s pulled down, features a manta ray seemingly swimming through the night sky. An outrigger like Moana’s boat is docked at an island in the distance.
Across from the couch is the TV unit. The TV is mounted in an alcove above a pull-down single bed. There are cubbies around the TV displaying decorations and books.
The front of the pull-down bed and the panel behind the TV have a diamond pattern creating a dimensional illusion.
This pull-down bed also has plain white linens. Above it is artwork of a colorful underwater scene featuring fish swimming around a reef.
The curtains are beige with a darker brown geometric pattern across the bottom. Fish, including a manta ray, are across the top.
Bedroom
The bedroom has one king bed. It’s elevated so there is storage space underneath. The carpet is pale green with a textured pattern resembling leaves or coral.
The sheets are white with subtle striping while the pillowcases are solid white. There’s a padded sand-colored headboard on the wall. Wicker nightstands with three drawers are on either side of the bed, below wicker lamps.
Above the headboard is a carved trim and a mural of sailboats crossing the ocean. A light illuminates the mural from below. The bedroom has an en suite bathroom, with a full-length oblong mirror on the wall next to the sliding barn door.
The nightstands have white marble tops. The villa’s phone is on one stand.
Built into the headboard on each side are outlets and small reading lights.
Across from the bed is a TV mounted on a dark wall panel. Below it is a wicker-style dresser with a white marble top.
Next to the dresser and TV is a matching wardrobe.
Inside the wardrobe are hangers, a luggage rack, and an extra pillow and blanket. There’s an automatic light inside the wardrobe.
In the en suite bathroom, there’s a marble tub, walk-in shower, water closet (toilet), and two vanities. Above the tub is a flower-shaped sculpture featuring turtles, sailboats, fish, islands, waves, and a volcano. It’s set against a rocky accent wall.
The vanities are on either side of the door. They each have one sink in a white marble counter. Oblong mirrors hang on green tile accent walls above the sinks. There is storage space underneath. Each also has an adjustable magnifying mirror.
The water closet has a frosted glass door.
Above the toilet is a blue seashell art piece.
The walk-in shower has a light-colored stone floor and matching stripe up the wall. There’s a bench on one side, with a cubby above it. The mounted shower products are on the opposite wall. There’s a detachable shower head and a waterfall shower head.
Balcony
The living room and bedroom both have balcony access. It’s one long balcony with four gray chairs and two small tables.
The orange-brown railings feature crisscrossing lines. We had a Theme Park View, so could see Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
We were situated above Wailulu Bar & Grill, which juts out from the building, so a roof was directly below us. But we could still see the beach and some of the tower’s pool area.
