Disney has added flashing red lights to the stop signs at the EPCOT parking plaza, plus installed a new digital sign.

EPCOT Stop Sign Lights

The stop signs at the parking plaza already existed. They’re mounted on the plaza’s support columns in front of each toll booth. New are the red lights on each corner of the signs, which constantly flash as cars approach.

Though the lights are hard to see on camera, the flashing is visible in our video below.

Evidently, Disney decided they needed to better notify guests that they need to stop at the toll booths. The flashing lights also might help get the message across at night.

Stopping at the toll booths is necessary not only to pay for parking, or confirm you have complimentary parking through a hotel reservation or Annual Pass, but to ensure the safety of the toll booth Cast Members, who sometimes need to cross lanes. The Cast Members also wear hi-vis vests and carry handheld stop signs when crossing.

We first noticed the flashing lights at EPCOT about a week ago and have yet to see them installed at any of Disney’s other parking plazas, so they might be in a testing phase right now.

New Digital Sign

A blank electronic billboard stands beside a highway, reminiscent of an Epcot display, with trees and an overpass in the background.

The new digital sign is on the side of the road on the way to the EPCOT parking lots. Unlike other digital signs throughout Walt Disney World, this one has a black frame with blue on the edges. This design matches the signage throughout EPCOT, which is color-coded based on the “neighborhood.” Blue corresponds to World Celebration, the center of the park.
