Disney just released a new mug themed to Dinosaur Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction snack stand at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The Dinosaur Gertie mug is available at Celebrity 5 & 10 on Hollywood Blvd.
The mug’s interior is glazed with a shiny gold color, and the imagery is duplicated on the back side of the mug.
This mug is the second piece of Dinosaur Gertie merchandise Disney recently released. A Dinosaur Gertie Tumbler debuted just last month, also at Hollywood Studios.
Dinosaur Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction is situated on Echo Lake at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It was an opening day fixture at the Disney-MGM Studios on May 1, 1989.
Gertie the Dinosaur was one of the first animated film characters, created by Winsor McCay in 1914. Disney Imagineers decided to honor McCay with this dinosaur-shaped ice cream shop due to Walt Disney’s respect and appreciation of the pioneering animation work Winsor McCay did on Gertie the Dinosaur.
The holidays are one of our favorite times to visit Gertie, as she’s decked out with her Santa hat and an ornament hanging from her mouth. Her refurbishment over the summer was well worth the wait to see her looking fresh and clean for the holidays.
