PHOTO REPORT: Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney Springs 12/27/2024 (New Mugs, New Ear Headbands, and More)

Howdy Hey! Happy Friday! Today I spent the morning at Hollywood Studios and the afternoon shopping at Disney Springs, and I saw a ton of new merchandise released including new mugs, new ear headbands, and so much more.

Good Morning from Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Collage showing Disney park entrance from a car, an empty parking lot, and a crowded main street decorated for a holiday with people walking.

It was a foggy start to the day and I picked the slowest lines as usual. I also parked in no man’s land which was extra ominous in the fog. When I did manage to make it inside Hollywood Studios chaos was well underway. Lightning Lane Premier Pass sold out today for Hollywood Studios and it certainly showed.

Hollywood Holiday Decor

Two festive figurines: a nutcracker with a white hat and a snowman with a red bow tie, both surrounded by decorated Christmas trees on display.

Yes, I am getting more nostalgic for the holiday decor especially in Hollywood Studios as we get closer to the new year. There’s something about the mid-century modern twist on the holidays that feels warm. Let me know what you think of the decor in Hollywood Studios in the comments below. I have some friends who think the figures are creepy.

Disney Mugs in 5&10

Four novelty mugs with various designs: Mickey Mouse, Epcot ball, Grogu, and Woody-themed. Displayed in a store, each held by hands with painted nails.

I found some new mugs in 5&10 available for purchase. My favorite mug is the Four Parks mug which features each of the Four Park icons. I am a big fan of the Four Parks Collection which is slowly being released. It’s a very clean design.

  • Mickey Mouse Mug – $16.99
  • Four Parks Mug – $19.99
  • Grogu Mug and Spoon – $24.99
  • Pinocchio Mug – $27.99

Keystone Clothiers Facade

Entrance to a clothing and accessories store with an arched doorway, flower arrangement above, and display windows on either side.

I do not think Keystone will ever fix the damaged exterior center entrance. This painted plywood may be permanent. The marble-lookalike decals also remain below the windows on either side of this entrance.

Santa Gertie and Echo Lake

Collage of Hollywood-themed park scenes: a bench with a "Celebrity 5 & 10" sign, a dinosaur statue with a Santa hat holding an ornament, and a close-up of a "Celebrity 5 & 10" sign.

I went to take a moment on a bench near Echo Lake when I noticed how damaged the image was on the bench. I know this is perhaps too nitpicky but there was a time at Disney when this was considered a “bad show” and would be repaired or hidden from view of guests.

Do you think minor details like this matter at Disney World? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Galaxy’s Edge Madness

Collage of a theme park: crowds at an entrance, a themed T-shirt on display, decorative cup by a statue, and visitors near a sci-fi spaceship and rocky structures.

OI VEY. Let me start by saying getting into Galaxy’s Edge was much more difficult than existing within the land. The end of the line for Rise of the Resistance reached the Backlot Express the quick service restaurant next to Star Tours. That shakes out to a minimum of a two-and-a-half-hour wait. No thanks…

I found a new Ahsoka shirt in Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiquity. The front of the shirt has Ahsoka’s symbol and “I am no Jedi” embroidered. The sleeves and sides have her printed stripes. This Ahsoka-inspired shirt is available for $34.99.

Nothing new in Oga’s Cantina since our last visit, but I do love that they put their available mugs on display. I wish Trader Sams would do that.

Character Moments

A person dressed as a green plastic soldier and another in a cartoon character costume entertain visitors in a theme park setting.

While roaming around Hollywood Studios I saw a Green Army Man playing with potential recruits in Toy Story Land. In front of The Chinese Theater, Max was busting moves with a small band. The kids were involved with both characters which is always great to see.

ANXIETY IS BACK

Store display with plush toys and a T-shirt featuring a cartoon character with wild orange hair, over text that reads "Anxiety.

Normally when someone says anxiety is back it is not a positive story. Luckily, in this case, it is. The Anxiety Plush and Anxiety Keychain have been restocked for the first time since they were released with the movie ‘Inside Out 2’. I found the plush in Beverly Hills Sunset in Hollywood Studios and the keychain in World of Disney at Disney Springs.

There is also a new Anxiety t-shirt available for $29.99 or $25.00 for two in Beverly Hills Sunset and World of Disney.

Art of Animation Ear Headband – $34.99

A person holds blue Disney-themed mouse ears headband with Ariel and Simba designs. Background shows more headbands on display.

In the Art of Animation Ink & Paint Shop, I found a new ear headband available for $34.99, featuring Ariel and Simba on the front, and Lightning Mcqueen and Nemo on the back. The blue bow is certainly a change from the previous ears of the Art of Animation.

Disney Mystery Sets – Ever After

Top left shows a Marvel mystery toy box, bottom left a Mickey and Friends toy pack, and right a Disney ride-themed toy selection box with icons.

At Disney Springs in Ever After I found three new mystery Disney sets. There is a Mystery Mini Spider-bot set available for $14.99. There is also a new Mickey and Friends mystery set available for $6.99. Finally, there is a Disney World ride vehicle mystery figurine set featuring six different rides and a mystery one for $9.99.

These are perfect small gifts for any Disney fan. I am especially interested in the ride vehicle mystery set. I love that it features Disney characters as well. I think it’s a fun gamble for $9.99.

Daisy Hat – $29.99

A person holds a hat designed to resemble a cartoon duck with a pink bow, big eyelashes, and an orange bill. Other character-themed hats are displayed in the background.

It has come to my attention that the Disney character hats have been going through a redesign. I was stoked when I saw a Daisy hat in World of Disney this afternoon. I cannot remember the last time or if ever she has had a hat.

I can picture my parents wearing the Daisy and Donald hats in the parks. Are you a fan of the character hats? Let me know in the comments.

Cups, Mugs, and Tumblers Oh MY! – World of Disney

Collage of four Disney-themed mugs: one with a lid, two featuring castles and text, and one with Parisian imagery.

In the World of Disney, there was a ton of new merchandise way too much to bore you with so I will show you some of my highlights.

There was a very well-insulated Walt Disney World Tumbler available for $29.99. The tumbler also features a leak-resistant seal in the lid of the cup. I think the rubber detail on the straw is fun in theory, but I think it would drive me nuts in real life.

There were also three new mugs. I think it would depend on the day which mug would be my favorite. Today it is the EPCOT France Pavilion Belle Mug available for $24.99. I love that it features the actual pavilion in the background.

The monorail and castle mugs are also very cute. The monorail mug recycles a design previously seen on t-shirts in the parks. The monorail mug is available for $19.99. The 10/10 Would Recommend Castle Mug is available for $19.99.

Four Park Merchandise – World of Disney

Collage of Disney merchandise including a sequined headband, a white sweatshirt, and a colorful tumbler with "Walt Disney World" text.

Like I said earlier I am a big fan of the new Four Parks Collection. I found a Tumbler available for $24.99, the ears are available for $34.99, and the sweater is available for $59.99.

The tumbler is similar to the Walt Disney World Tumbler earlier with the leak resistant lid. My favorite piece of this collection so far has to be the ears. Let me know what you think in the comments below.

New Purple Walt Disney World Collection – World of Disney

Merchandise display featuring Disney-themed headband with purple ears, a purple tumbler, and a dark blue sweatshirt, all with fireworks and castle designs.

I don’t know what to call this newest collection. Let me know what you would call in in the comments below. I found a Starbucks Tumbler available for $39.99, the ears are available for $34.99, and the sweater is available for $84.99.

I love the night vibe the collection is giving, but I want to see more pieces.

Sleepwear in Tren-D

Three sets of pajamas on display, each with a unique pattern featuring mouse silhouettes. The colors are white with gray, brown, and pink designs.

In Tren-D, there were new silk sleep sets available. My favorite set is the black and cream Mickeys with shorts that match. The black/cream and brown are short sets and are available for $59.99. The long pant set is available for $64.99.

Let me know if you wear sleep sets like this in the comments below. I usually find myself gravitating to cozy warm sweaters rather than silky sets.

I hope you enjoyed our shopping spree of a day. I was thrilled that Anxiety was finally restocked as everything related to that character seemed to fly off the shelves. I don’t know what that says about us as a society, but still happy she’s back. Let me know in the comments which new piece you were most excited to see.
