- Crews are continuing work on the second floor of Disney Lakeshore Lodge, the resort replacing Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge at Walt Disney World.
New Merchandise
- Salute to all attractions but mostly Muppet*Vision 3D with this new Sam Eagle mug.
- Disney is celebrating 25 years of official Pin Trading with a new series of pins featuring Mickey & Friends with their own pin trading boards.
- Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort has a new Loungefly tote bag, wallet, apparel, and housewares.
Disneyland Resort
- New loading signage for the Disneyland tram has been installed at Disneyland Resort.
- Downtown Disney District shared a photo of the sign for Parkside Market, a new group of culinary concepts by Levy Restaurants opening this winter.
Hong Kong Disneyland
- Rex from “Toy Story” made his meet-and-greet debut at Hong Kong Disneyland during their New Year’s Eve Countdown celebration.
Entertainment and Media
- It’s officially a new year, and with it comes a new wave of Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars LEGO sets.
Universal Studios
- Start your new year by building one of these new “Harry Potter,” “Jurassic World,” and Mario Kart LEGO sets.
- Popeye the Sailor, created by Elzie Crisler Segar, is now public domain.
Universal Orlando Resort
- Universal has once again removed the Green Eggs and Ham sign from the Seuss Landing dining venue at Universal Islands of Adventure.
- Universal Volcano Bay will close on January 2 and 3 due to “inclement weather” in Central Florida.
