AI Self-Checkout Test Ends at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort Food Court

The AI self-checkout system that was being tested by Disney at  End Zone Food Court, located at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort has been removed, signaling the end of the trial period.

We previously reported in December that the goal of the testing was to streamline the guest process of ordering and paying for food. The testing began on December 5, 2024, and lasted for 30 days. The new system was only tested at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort.

Items that were off-menu or that had adjustments had a harder time being identified and did not always scan properly, but a Cast Member was stationed nearby to assist.

The AI self-checkouts have all been removed and the standard checkout lines remain.

A Cast Member we spoke with informed us that the people who worked with the system liked it, but they needed to work out the kinks. We were unable to confirm with a manager whether the test would take place again elsewhere.

At this time, it is uncertain whether or not the self-checkouts will return in the future.
