The Disneyland Railroad is closed for another round of construction work. The railroad was previously closed in fall 2024 and Cast Members told us that was the first of four three-month refurbishments. While the attraction was open, the Main Street train station was refurbished.

Construction walls surround the Main Street train station again. Work on the station itself appears to be complete, while this closure should be focused on track replacement.

During its refurbishment, the station received new roofing in stripes of two shades of brown. The previous roof was faded from sun exposure.

The construction walls extend down the railroad, completely blocking the nearby tracks from view. Cast Members told us that each closure phase will be focused on replacing a different section of track.

We could hear loud banging behind the construction walls.

A bridge with an ornate metal railing spans over a pathway, with tall trees and a bright blue sky in the background.

After passing through the entrance tunnels, we saw the silhouettes of scaffolding and crew members working behind scrim.

There are far fewer construction walls and scrims on the other side of the train station, but the tracks are still completely blocked from view.

It’s the same story at New Orleans Square station, with blue construction walls cutting off views of the track. When the Disneyland Railroad reopened in October, new narration mentioning Tiana’s Bayou Adventure near this station was revealed. The window looking into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was also opened and cavern lighting was restored.

Just shy of the new year in 2022, the radio house at the New Orleans Square station caught fire. The building has been surrounded by construction walls ever since.

The previous railroad track replacement was on the opposite side of Disneyland, in the northeast corner of the park.

The Disneyland Railroad inspired similar railroad systems at other Disney castle parks. The original opened with Disneyland in 1955. It has four stations: Main Street, New Orleans Square, Mickey’s Toontown, and Tomorrowland. Its current engines are the C.K. Holliday, E.P. Ripley, Fred Gurley, Ernest S. Marsh, and Ward Kimball.
