Disney has filed a new Amendment to Notice of Commencement permit for the theater that will house the new “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Permit Filed for New ‘The Little Mermaid’ Show

The new permit was filed by Disney for “general construction” at 775 Stage Ln., Bay Lake, Florida. This is the location of a service road behind the former “Voyage of the Little Mermaid” theater.

The work has been assigned to MLC Theming Inc. They are a specialty construction company in the greater Orlando area that specializes in “scenic painting and aging of structures, fabricating facades, carving work, and more” according to their website.

Disney has contracted MLC Theming Inc. for different projects in the past, including previous construction work at Frontier Trading Post, the now-extinct Primeval Whirl, and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

Recently, the old marquee above the theater for the former “Voyage of The Little Mermaid” show was torn down. Design Communications Ltd. was commissioned to create custom signage for the new show.

The permit has an expiration date of August 29, 2025.

The new show titled “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure” is set to open in summer 2025.

Just last week, we reported that Disney shared a sneak peek of new puppets that will debut for the show, specifically in the “Kiss the Girl” scene. The show will also include other puppets and motion-capture characters.
