Earlier this month, we reported that the playground was set to close for refurbishment beginning January 27, 2025, and was expected to reopen in the spring of 2025.

Disney has now stated on the official Walt Disney World website that the playground will not close until February 24, 2025.

The indoor children’s playground in the Dumbo the Flying Elephant queue will close for refurbishment on February 24, 2025 and is expected to reopen in Spring 2025. The attraction will remain open and available during this time.

During the playground’s refurbishment, Dumbo the Flying Elephant will remain open and available for guests.

Construction permits indicated that PremUS of Orlando was contracted to work on the playground flooring with West Coast Netting contracted to update the playground nets.

Children waiting in line to ride Dumbo the Flying Elephant can hang out at the playground instead of having to stand in line. Then when it’s their time to ride, their parent or guardian will be paged.
