Crews are continuing work on the second floor of Disney Lakeshore Lodge, the resort replacing Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge at Walt Disney World.
Disney Lakeshore Lodge Construction
Construction is underway along Bay Lake, next to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. This first section has grown taller since our last construction update. There are steel frames connecting concrete walls and pillars.
Past the next copse of trees, concrete pillars now dot the second floor of this section. Previously, there were only wood planks on the second floor.
Walls are also coming together on the second floor next to one of the concrete pillars. Rebar sticks out of the pillars and walls, ready to secure more ceiling/floor elements. Large slabs of concrete are stacked between the two buildings.
The walls are encased in wood molds as their concrete forms. The pillars mostly connect to pillars on the first floor.
At the Fort Wilderness Resort, fences covered in green scrim surround the construction site.
The original Disney Vacation Club resort, Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, was announced in 2018. Disney demolished their old water park River Country to make space for the resort. Construction barely began in 2020 before COVID-19 forced it to stop. Within a few years, Reflections was thought to be canceled. However, Disney filed for new and extended construction permits in 2023. Construction resumed in November 2024 followed by Disney’s official Disney Lakeshore Lodge announcement.
We don’t know how much Lakeshore Lodge will resemble Reflections but it will be “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.” Check out the original concept art for Reflections room designs inspired by “Bambi,” “Brother Bear,” “Fox and the Hound,” and “Pocahontas.”
