As Tortuga Tavern in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom continues to undergo refurbishment, the flooring has been removed.
Tortuga Tavern Refurbishment
In our last update, we reported that rolling planters had been set up around the seating area of the quick-service restaurant.
Behind the rolling shrubs, we were able to see that the structural pillars were wrapped in plastic and secured with pieces of red tape and the flooring was still intact.
The plastic coverings and tape have now been removed from the pillars. The flooring has also been torn up and only dirt remains. A wooden stake has been inserted into the ground and an orange string runs behind it attached to the wall, though it’s unclear what this is for.

In another area behind the shrubs, wooden framework is in place atop the dirt and around the cement pillars, likely for fresh cement to be poured for the new flooring. There was also an opened yellow box on the ground in the background.

Tortuga Tavern has been closed since June 2024 and the Walt Disney World website lists it as closed through March 28, 2025 — the furthest date currently available on the calendar. Originally, the website had the location listed with operating hours beginning January 1, 2025, but it failed to open as expected. It temporarily operated last summer as “Tortuga Treasures” while refurbishment took place at Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar.
