Walt Disney World has announced that virtual queues will no longer be offered for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind beginning later this month, instead opting to finally open the standby queue for both attractions.
Standby Queue Opening for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
Starting February 25, 2025, guests visiting Walt Disney World can experience Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT via the standby queue or Lightning Lane. Keep in mind that Lightning Lane purchases are subject to availability, closure, and change, can vary by date, and are not guaranteed.
A virtual queue normally offers guest two chances to reserve a spot in line for newer attractions at Walt Disney World, with daily opportunities to join the queue via the My Disney Experience app, at 7 a.m. ET and 1 p.m. ET. While guests do not have to be on property for the early morning “drop,” they do need to be in the park of their desired virtual queue to join the second release.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has utilized a standby queue for select after-hours events in the past, including Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Its sister attraction at Disneyland Park discontinued its virtual queue and opened the standby line back in December 2024.
A virtual queue has been in place from the opening of both Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, since May 22, 2022 and June 28, 2024, respectively. In comparison, TRON Lightcycle / Run opened in April 2023 and did not open its standby queue until September 2024.
This means that after February 25, virtual queues for both attractions will no longer be offered. Disney said, however, that “virtual queues continue to be helpful with the launch of popular attractions and the debut of new experiences and offerings, so we may use them again from time to time for select experiences in the future.”
