Disney Springs is hosting book signings this weekend with the authors and artist behind “A Portrait of Walt Disney World” and “Groundbreaking Magic.”
Disney Springs Book Signings
The book signings will take place at Marketplace Co-Op. “A Portrait of Walt Disney World” writers Tim O’Day and Steven Vagnini, as well as cover artist Fabiola Garza will be available on Saturday, February 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Martha Blanding, the subject and co-writer of “Groundbreaking Magic,” will appear alongside co-writer Tim O’Day on February 15 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The pair will return on Sunday, February 16 from 3 p.m. to 5p.m.
“A Portrait of Walt Disney World: 50 Years of The Most Magical Place on Earth” by O’Day, Vagnini, and Kevin M. Kern was released in 2021 in honor of the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World. The coffee table book features rare concept art, photographs, and ephemera.

Published last year, “Groundbreaking Magic: A Black Women’s Journey Through the Happiest Place on Earth” tells the story of Blanding, who joined The Walt Disney Company in May 1971 as a VIP Tour Guide at Disneyland Resort. She was one of the first Black women to become a full-time tour guide and was the first Black manager. She co-founded PULSE, a Business Employee Resource Group (BERG) for Black cast members and employees. She was the first Black employee to commemorate 50 years with the company and was the first Black Disney Parks employee named a Disney Legend.
