One of the outdoor signs for Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Magic Kingdom park has now been removed for replacement or repair.
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe Sign Removed

Following our previous report of Disney filing multiple construction permits, one of the signs hanging by the front entrance to Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe has now been removed. Disney filed two construction permits last week, one of which was for the address of the Christmas store and listed “Install Signage” as the project.

The missing sign was located at one of the front entrances to the shop that faces toward Liberty Square. Now that the sign has been removed, only a single metal hanger remains above the door.

Disney has not released any information on whether the sign is simply being removed for some repair work or if it is being replaced by an entirely new sign.

For comparison, the image above shows the wooden sign hanging above the doorway prior to its removal.

Made of heavy wood, the sign had blue edges and said “Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe” above a fruit-covered wreath with a candle in the center.
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe already underwent refurbishment from December 2023 through mid-2024. During this time, each section of the exterior facade was temporarily covered in scrims for repair and repainting. Several of the building’s exterior staircases were also replaced during the refurbishment. It is possible that this hanging sign was not replaced during the previous work and was still in need of repainting, though we will have to wait and see once the sign returns.
