Disney Cruise Line has announced several experiences for the upcoming new vessel, the Disney Adventure, including the first-ever Duffy and Friends show aboard Disney Cruise Line and a new shop themed to the beloved characters.
‘Duffy and The Friend Ship’
Making its debut on the Disney Imagination Garden stage, “Duffy and The Friend Ship” will feature original new songs. Guided by the seagull Tippy Blue, Duffy and his friends will set off on an imaginary voyage to explore the high seas.
In addition to the show, guests will also be able to meet and take photos with Duffy and his friends.
Duffy and Friends Shop
Also debuting on the ship is Disney Cruise Line’s first-ever Duffy-themed store, the Duffy and Friends Shop. Here, guests will find a variety of items featuring their favorite characters, as well as pick up a guide for the Duffy and Friends Discovery Quest.
During this ship-wide experience, guests will follow clues to help Duffy and his pals find their missing items. Eventually, players will earn a commemorative gift.
Disney initially introduced Duffy at Walt Disney World in 2002, then named “The Disney Bear” for the opening of Once Upon a Toy. The bear wasn’t successful in America, so Oriental Land Company (OLC) adopted him for Tokyo Disney Resort, where he was introduced in 2005.
In the years since his debut overseas, other Duffy friends have been introduced at Tokyo Disney Resort and other international Disney Parks. These characters include ShellieMay, Gelatoni, StellaLou, CookieAnn, ‘OluMel, and LinaBell. Tokyo Disney Resort will celebrate Duffy’s 20th anniversary this year with a special year-long event.
Other new offerings announced for the ship include a Captain Jack Sparrow show, a Marvel-themed transformation experience, and more.
The Disney Adventure will set sail out of Singapore on December 15, 2025 for its maiden voyage.
