A new playground is being constructed just around the corner from the Imagination pavilion at EPCOT.

The area where the playground is being set up is located just behind the current Expression Section set up for the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. The Expression Section is a fan-favorite offering that allows guests to participate in large-scale paint-by-number mural. A green scrim had been set up around the perimeter of the area to block guest’s access as construction is done.
Behind the scrim, we could see crew members at work assembling the playground. Construction equipment and a stack of pallets were visible. We also saw a piece of playground equipment resembling a blue climbing structure that appears to be a “Cozy Dome.”
We noticed that the picnic tables had all been pushed to the side on top of the grassy area. This flex space was under construction for a year. Since its opening last summer, it has mostly been used for extra shaded seating where guests can sit and relax while enjoying their festival food items from the nearby booths. Prior to the construction, the space was used for temporary playgrounds and other offerings.
In the past, EPCOT has set up other playgrounds themed to the current festival to give younger guests a place to burn off some energy. The playground behind Creations Shop in World Discovery is frequently rethemed. In 2024, it became the Camp Get Out ‘N’ Play Garden Presented by OFF! for the 2024 ECOT International Flower & Garden Festival. The playground features a jungle gym and other activities.
It’s possible the new playground is being constructed in preparation for the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival beginning March 5, 2025.
