One of the returning fan-favorite aspects of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is the Expression Section. Here, guests participate in a huge group paint-by-numbers mural each day.
The Expression Section
This free activity is open from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. or until the mural is complete for the day, weather permitting. It’s located on the walkway between World Showcase and the Imagination! pavilion, at the outdoor flex space that opened last year.
To participate, guests can go to the Paint Distribution booth to pick out the color they want to use and receive a sponge brush.

A rainbow path leads from the paint distribution booth to the mural.

A Cast Member assigns each party to one of the sections numbered on the ground. Cast Members ask that each guest paint just five squares on the mural to make sure the largest number of guests can participate each day.
If you have leftover paint, it’s usually considered acceptable to touch up other already-painted squares of the same color.
Each guest who participates with receive a complimentary bookmark that shows the whole mural they helped paint. Four mural designs, as shown on a sign, will rotate throughout the festival.
Each design focuses on EPCOT. The first is a pixel-style panorama of the park, including the Imagination! pavilion, Living with the Land, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Mission: SPACE, and the currently closed Test Track.
Another design features many Figments in different outfits (including Skunk Figment). It has a Cubist-inspired style.
The third design is more classic Disney-style and features the World Showcase pavilions with Spaceship Earth in the center and the Monorail passing by.
The final design celebrates all EPCOT festivals, starting with the Festival of the Arts, to Flower and Garden Festival, to Food & Wine Festival, and finally, to Festival of the Holidays.
