Now that night has fallen in Orlando, we were able to get some brighter pictures of the new Universal Orlando Resort signs as the screens display rotating studio character images.
New Universal Resort Signs Displaying Characters

We previously spotted the screens displaying studio intellectual property (IP) for the first time earlier this morning, but the images are much more difficult to see during the day. Now that the skies are dark, the new IP images on either side of the sign are easier to spot.

The screens on either side of the Universal Orlando Resort globe logo display characters from attractions and lands found in the Universal parks. The screens are constantly in motion, as two characters appear on either side of the logo and slowly become larger. After a few seconds, the images change to new characters from the same franchise. After another few seconds, the background on the displays will change, signifying a shift to a new IP.

As we watched the new sign, the IP changed from Transformers to Jurassic World, and again shifted from Jurassic World to Harry Potter.

Some more characters in the sign’s rotation come from DreamWorks films. Even though the characters come from different movies, they are placed together like their unified presence in DreamWorks Land. These characters included Shrek, Donkey, Puss in Boots, Po, Poppy, and Moxie.

The newly-replaced signs are located along most of the main roads and entrances to Universal Orlando Resort, including:
- Epic Blvd and Destination Pkwy
- Turkey Lake Road and Hollywood Way
- Universal Boulevard and Hollywood Way
- South Kirkman Road and Major Boulevard
- Vineland Road and Universal Boulevard
Do you like the new Universal Orlando Resort road signs? Are they more dynamic now that they show IP characters, or did you prefer the simple shooting star animation? Let us know in the comments.
