With the Universal Orlando Resort app updated to include Epic Universe, there are increased rumors that the new park’s worlds will use virtual queues for entry.
Epic Universe Virtual Queues

The Epic Universe digital map features markers for the entrance portal of each world (land). When the app was initially updated, the lands all had “Virtual Line” listed under them.
As of publication on Friday morning, “Virtual Line” is no longer listed under the world names. The Universal Orlando Virtual Line webpage also does not include information about potential virtual queues for Epic Universe.
However, it’s still possible the worlds will use virtual lines for entry when demand is high. Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan and Universal Studios Hollywood used virtual queues when it opened and demand was at its peak. The Wizarding Worlds of Harry Potter at various Universal theme parks also restricted entry when they initially opened.
Except for Celestial Park, each Epic Universe world has a single portal entrance. This would make it easy to restrict access to the land and control capacity. This means Universal could also potentially close entire lands for private events and major refurbishments.
Celestial Park did also have a “Virtual Line” listed on the app. However, the IP-less land includes the main entrance of the park, so a virtual queue to enter it doesn’t quite make sense. The inclusion of “Virtual Line” labels may have been a mistake.
Universal could also be planning to use virtual queues just for Team Member and Annual Passholder previews. There have already been Team Member previews limited to one world at a time. Full park Team Member previews are happening in the next few weeks.
Universal may also implement virtual queues for popular attractions.
