Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Opening Delayed on First Day of Standby Queue at Magic Kingdom

On its first full day using a standby queue, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom did not open with the rest of the park.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Delayed

People line up outside a wooden Frontierland-themed building at Magic Kingdom, eagerly waiting in the Standby Queue for Tiana's Bayou Adventure.

UPDATE – 9:39 a.m. ET: At this time, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has opened to guests and currently sits at a 45-minute wait.

The ride’s opening was delayed due to “technical difficulties.” Monday was rainy and Tuesday remains cold and cloudy, so the weather may have something to do with the water ride’s delay.

Guests were allowed to get in the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure standby queue at 9 a.m. although the ride was not operating yet. At the time of publishing, it is currently listed as “Temporarily Closed” in the My Disney Experience app.

No wait time was displayed on the “Stand-By Entrance” sign. The sign previously displayed the virtual queue return time. As of Tuesday, February 25, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind no longer offer virtual queues.

People entering a colorful wooden building marked "Main Entrance" beneath a sign reading "LinaBell's Goods," reminiscent of the enchanting charm found at Magic Kingdom.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has used a standby queue for after-hours events like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. The Disneyland version of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure discontinued its virtual queue and opened a standby queue in December 2024.

Now, no Walt Disney World attractions use virtual queues. Disney did say that “virtual queues continue to be helpful with the launch of popular attractions and the debut of new experiences and offerings, so we may use them again from time to time for select experiences in the future.”
