A ticketless entry system has been implemented for Annual Passholders at Universal Studios Florida after a test period was conducted.

We first observed the ticketless entry system being implemented on February 19. During our park visit, we did notice that some Team Members were still scanning physical Annual Passes as well.

In January we reported on a limited-time ticketless entry system referred to as “Effortless Entry” being implemented at Universal Islands of Adventure. The system was being tested at Passholder-exclusive entrances at the park.

To enroll in the ticketless entry, Passholders first have to scan their ticket at the park entrance and then “smile” as the system creates a Photo Template that will then be used to verify their identity. Once enrolled, they no longer needed to scan their physical passes.

Universal Studios Florida does not have Passholder-exclusive entrances (except during Passholder Appreciation Days) so ticketless entry is available at any line.

When approaching the entry the screen reads “Welcome” and then proceeds to open the camera with the phrase “Smile!” as the system verifies the Passholder’s identity. Once verified the camera screen closes and shows a green check mark.

Effortless Entry is also available when using the Universal Express Pass. After enrolling in Photo Validation, guests can use the Effortless Entry system at select attractions without the need to scan a physical Universal Express Pass.

More information on Photo Validation and Effortless Entry can be found on the Universal Orlando Resort website.
